➡️**(Hi)story …**

The FromZero movement evolved from TourismFromZero and AIRTH. Together with the students of UP FTS sTOUdio Turistica we have built a social startup LocalsFromZero which merged with Fairbnb.coop. Now we use the experience of the emerging consortium to research, teach and shape the work and leisure sector together.

The elephant in the room

A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. This one was taken in 2018 on a road trip to Borrego Springs, California, by two AIRTH founding members, Vinod Sasidharan and Dejan Križaj.

For us, Borrego Springs is a prime example of a "FromZero destination". In the town's surrounding desert, you can admire the appealing zero-ness of the landscape, filled with the intricate metal sculptures of artist Ricardo Breceda. With the sculptures, out of nowhere/zero, a destination without much pre-existing tourism charm suddenly emerged - for a special segment of sensitive tourists, attracted by a unique combination of simple natural and human magic.
